Road to atheism (Part one)

Why I converted to atheism? It really isn’t a diabolical answer in fact the answer is quite simple. The belief in a god or god(s) seemed as silly as telling children that Santa Claus is real. The same amount of evidence to suggest the flying spaghetti monster is real and Superman is also real can be applied to the logic of a god. Why are Christians atheists towards any other god except the Christian God? Why are Muslims intolerant of any other religion except their own? You really have to sit and wonder why out of the thousands of gods out there everyone thinks that their god is the real deal and that it can’t be refuted or denied?

The road to skepticism all began when I was 10-years old and I was told for the first time that Santa Claus wasn’t real. I knew in my heart that if this man wasn’t real what made the other one (god) real? But at the time I was still too young to even validate an opinion and when I could construct an opinion it was shot down and I was told instantly that I am too young to hold such an opinion about religion and politics. If this is the case, why do Christians indoctrinate their children into religion at such a young age? Why are schools of religion so eager to teach Children about creationism? It really isn’t scientific fact at all. Man didn’t pop into existence from dirt and woman didn’t form from bones. People don’t just pop into existence! Matter of fact while on the subject of creationism; the rest of the world origins aren’t explained in the bible either when you think of it. How were people formed and if god can just create people at a whim? Why did he have to leave it up to Noah and his family to repopulate the earth? DNA does exist and we all have a genetic code that helps separate us but those related to us share similar DNA. Two people with similar DNA cannot bred because they’re DNA is so similar that it will cause tons of genetic issues including birth defects. Please explain to me how this could occur after the supposed flood? Again, explaining this to a skeptic minded person is like telling them that you can spin on your head for five hours straight without getting dizzy. Proof of this claim will be desired to validate your claim otherwise your claim is just an exaggeration.

You cannot expect someone to believe that a penguin made the long journey from Antarctica to the Middle East to aboard a boat. You cannot expect someone to believe that two of each species sat on a boat and all got along for thirty days and thirty nights. Noah had enough food to feed all of the animals and they all lived happily on a boat that reached depths higher than that of Mount Everest. I myself have a vivid imagination but this is just way out there. What drugs were these people on to even come up with this? I can understand the need for religion to help fill a void for some but why fill it with endless bullshit?

Religion never really appealed to me growing up. I always seen it as made up propaganda used as a weapon to control. These thoughts of course didn’t really start to initiate until I was in high school going through my ‘I am an adult now’ stages. I read about different religions and how each one put much emphasis on death and what happens next and what one must do to achieve that next level; almost as if it were a video game. You have to complete each mission to advance to the next level and along the path you gain lives and you lose lives. It seemed as if the whole concept of religion was the basis of most video games, but then again I was in high school and my exploration of self-identity didn’t really swing into effect yet. The highlights of my high school years really did teach me something, each religion tries to answer our origins and it also tries to explain why we are here and what our purpose is here on earth.

Christianity tells us that we are here to glorify god (well the Christian god of course.) But why should we glorify him? Many times I’ve asked this question and the end result has always been the same. God created the earth and the stars as well as the universe in only six days. He used magic tricks and spoke everything into existence, and he was pleased? I bet anyone would be pleased if they spoke an entire universe into existence. Christianity also tells us that the world is a young world when in fact the world is millions of years old. How in the fuck did someone come to that conclusion? Science has proven that the world is millions of years old; we’ve found fossils that have all dated back further than the creation of Christianity. We’ve also found that the pyramids in Egypt date back further than the start of that civilization. The Sphinx had a different head and was chopped off and replaced by a pharaoh of that time. Who could’ve possibly been there at the time? Well it certainly wasn’t god because we would have records of a god being on earth, oh wait we don’t.

God has one job and that is to float down from the clouds or outer space (wherever the hell he is) and reveal that he exists. But does he? No! And that’s what kills me about religion. The burden of proof is on the one making the claim not the one denying the claim. It’s like telling someone that I saw my teapot float over me and tell me that I am going to die. You will ask do I have proof of such claim and I will say no I don’t have to show you proof. You have to prove to me that my teapot didn’t float up and tell me my impending doom. This is about as logical as thinking that there are fairies at the bottom of the garden and the earth is flat. (Flat Earth Theorist this isn’t about you!)

The more and more I read into the bible the more and more it didn’t make any sense. Here’s an example of a conversation I had with an Evangelical Christian when he told me that I should really reconsider reading the bible.

Chris: Wow, you will not believe this book I've been reading!

Devbot: What book is that?

Chris: It is a manual for living a better life. It is also a guide to creating a better society for ourselves and our children. It has changed my life!

Devbot: That sounds like a really good book. Who wrote it?

Chris: The author is supposed to be the smartest person in the universe.

Devbot: The smartest person in the universe?! This has to be a good book. Do you by chance have a copy of this book with you?

Chris: Absolutely! I carry it with me everywhere I go! Here, have a look for yourself...

Devbot: (Opens the book to a random page and begins reading it.)

Consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy; for I am the Lord your God. Keep my statutes, and observe them; I am the Lord; I sanctify you.
All who curse father or mother shall be put to death; having cursed father or mother, their blood is upon them.

If a man commits adultery with the wife of his neighbour, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall be put to death. The man who lies with his father's wife has uncovered his father's nakedness; both of them shall be put to death; their blood is upon them.

If a man lies with his daughter-in-law, both of them shall be put to death; they have committed perversion; their blood is upon them.

If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall be put to death; their blood is upon them. [Leviticus, chapter 20]

Devbot: I’m not entirely sure what to take from this.

Chris: What do you mean?

Devbot: Well there are a lot of people that have to be killed. I mean adultery happens a lot and I’m not sure why it would be called that in the first place. Secondly, they are commanding the killing of gay people. How does this even equate to the smartest person in the world? Why would you kill anyone period?

Chris: Well, that's in the Old Testament, you see. The book is really two books, and the "old" part of the book doesn't really apply.

Devbot: What you are saying is that the smartest person in the universe once wanted mass genocide? But he realized the error of his ways and said please don’t do that anymore?

Chris: Well, parts of it do apply.

Devbot: But you said the old parts don’t apply anymore.
(Opens the book to another random page and begins to read it.)

When you buy a male Hebrew slave, he shall serve for six years, but in the seventh he shall go out a free person, without debt. If he comes in single, he shall go out single; if he comes in married, then his wife shall go out with him. If his master gives him a wife and she bears him sons or daughters, the wife and her children shall be her master’s and he shall go out alone. But if the slave declares, ‘I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out a free person’, then his master shall bring him before God. He shall be brought to the door or the doorpost; and his master shall pierce his ear with an awl; and he shall serve him for life.
When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she shall not go out as the male slaves do. If she does not please her master, who designated her for himself, then he shall let her be redeemed; he shall have no right to sell her to a foreign people, since he has dealt unfairly with her. If he designates her for his son, he shall deal with her as with a daughter. If he takes another wife to himself, he shall not diminish the food, clothing, or marital rights of the first wife. And if he does not do these three things for her, she shall go out without debt, without payment of money.

Whoever strikes a person mortally shall be put to death. If it was not premeditated, but came about by an act of God, then I will appoint for you a place to which the killer may flee. But if someone willfully attacks and kills another by treachery, you shall take the killer from my altar for execution.

Whoever strikes father or mother shall be put to death.

Whoever kidnaps a person, whether that person has been sold or is still held in possession, shall be put to death. Whoever curses father or mother shall be put to death.

When individuals quarrel and one strikes the other with a stone or fist so that the injured party, though not dead, is confined to bed, but recovers and walks around outside with the help of a staff, then the assailant shall be free of liability, except to pay for the loss of time, and to arrange for full recovery.

When a slave-owner strikes a male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies immediately, the owner shall be punished. But if the slave survives for a day or two, there is no punishment; for the slave is the owner’s property. [Exodus, chapter 21]

Devbot: Okay, this is even more disturbing than the last one I read. Why on earth would the smartest person in the universe say that slavery is okay, but not only that he tells you how to do it! Also, beating someone isn’t okay at all. We have laws that tell us that attacking anyone for reasons other than self-defense is illegal.

[Devbot opens to another random chapter.]

I desire, then, that in every place the men should pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or argument; also that the women should dress themselves modestly and decently in suitable clothing, not with their hair braided, or with gold, pearls, or expensive clothes, but with good works, as is proper for women who profess reverence for God. Let a woman learn in silence with full submission. I permit no woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she is to keep silent. For Adam was formed first, then Eve; and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor. Yet she will be saved through childbearing, provided they continue in faith and love and holiness, with modesty. [1 Timothy, chapter 2]

Devbot: Are you kidding me? Women aren’t allowed to teach men! Nature highly suggests that woman came first not man. Women are just baby factories and can’t wear nice clothes or jewelry. It seems as if the bible was written by sexually deprived men rather than the actual words of god.

This is one example of a conversation role play that I participated in with a fellow friend. He was a very proud Christian but later professed his desire to become agnostic after a few incidents left him realizing that what his ideology taught was hatred and not love and tolerance of other people. Maybe it was the fast number of hate speeches he spewed on a daily basis? He really thought that gay people should be put to death, but could never really fathom why they must die. I really didn’t understand either why religion is so big upon the bedroom. Maybe god just felt that he didn’t want to see man on man action? Maybe he was himself gay and trying to cover it up like a good chunk of homophobes out there. Education is important and learning about sexual orientation and attraction will further help you adapt to the idea of two people of the same-sex being attracted to one another. The bible cannot explain this at all.

Think about this. What if you asked a Christian about the eternal life that they are promised for being such an awful person? Damning everyone that doesn’t believe in their god and stoning to death people who don’t oblige to the endless rules set forward but this particular god. What are the rewards that await you in the afterlife? What does one get? I invited the same person back for another role play and it really did show proof of the delusion that is ‘heaven’.

Before I begin the conversation I just want to note that each religion has a differ concept about the afterlife. Christians believe in heaven and streets paved with gold. Muslims believe that you are met with 72 virgins when you kill yourself in the name of Allah. How barbaric are these notions to even consider? It is very baffling that we kill each other over a concept that can’t be denied or proven. You can’t see god, you can’t physically touch him and you certainly can’t hear him. How do you know that he or she even exists? Like I said prior at the beginning of this, I can say Superman exists. I have all of his comic books and they all say the wonderful things he has done to save people. Unless I can showcase a photo or actual footage that can be scientifically tested; my proof just like god is merely a construct of the imagination.

Chris: Jesus transcends death and promises eternal life to all who believe in him! Lift up your heart to the Lord Jesus Christ and he will give you eternal life!

Devbot: How does this even occur?

Chris: Have you ever read the book called "Left Behind?"

Devbot: No I haven’t.

Chris: You should! They have sold over 20 million copies of the book, because it is the truth! It describes exactly what will happen. One day the Lord Jesus calls his children home, and they are carried straight to heaven! Airplanes crash because their pilots have vanished. Cars run into phone poles. This is exactly what is described in the Bible.

Devbot: (Stares at Chris baffled by his statement.)
Wait so people just vanish into thin air?

[The statement Chris has said is the Appeal by Popularity Fallacy. This fallacy is really dumb because all it states is that if majority of people say that it is true than it must be true. Again, if for example a dinosaur rose from the dead and only five people were around to see it. The claim itself could be seen as a lie? You can’t just make up claims without having actual proof of this claim. So if these five people didn’t show a picture that could be tested scientifically for it’s authenticity.]

Chris: Yes. All that is left behind is their clothes, their jewelry and their hearing aids! The believers are transported directly to heaven!

Devbot: So these people enter heaven naked?

Chris: Yes!

Devbot: There are about six billion people on this planet. They each weigh about 150 pounds or so. Are you telling me that God can lift trillions of pounds of human flesh off this planet just like that?

Chris: Absolutely not! Only the believers are transported!
Devon: Okay, so maybe half a trillion pounds?

Chris: Yes!

Devbot: Where does this half a trillion pounds go?

Chris: To heaven!

Devbot: Heaven? Where is heaven?

Chris: It is in another dimension, of course! God lives in heaven!

Devbot: Another dimension? How do you even know that god is in this ‘other dimension’ and why is he in that dimension? How do you even get to this other dimension? Do you just float up to the sky like in the rapture? I mean travel through the vacuum of space? I don’t understand the part of going to heaven in another dimension.

Chris: No, silly! They are dematerialized and then rematerialize in heaven!

Devbot: What you are saying is that a half ton of flesh dematerializes then rematerializes in another universe? So during the rematerializing process how can each body be distinguished from each other? Do the body parts that are artificial get left behind?

Chris: Yes!

Devbot: What if someone has artificial heart valves, a couple of stents and titanium him joints? Does this mean that they are ripped out of their bodies and left behind?

Chris: Yes!

Devon: And what happens if there is a poor person who has fingers for eyes and his eyes are on his toes. Because oh there are a half trillion pounds of flesh rematerializing?

Chris: The book doesn't really talk about that... I imagine God would fix them up!
Devon: Okay, so heaven is full of flesh that’s been rematerialized into bodies?

Chris: Yes! Now you understand the power of the Lord Jesus Christ!

Devon: What happens next?

Chris: The believers all live in heaven in peace, harmony and joy for eternity!

Devon: What is heaven like?

Chris: We get to reunite with all of our dead friends and family members! We get to meet our ancestors for the first time!

Devon: Basically heaven is just one big party full of people you may or may not want to see?

Chris: Absolutely!

Devon: What if someone was raped and they get to heaven and their rapist is there also? How is that a good thing for that person?

Chris: Well, that person wouldn’t make it to heaven.

Devon: But in the bible it says as long as you confess your sins and repent. You will be allowed into heaven. The rapist confessed his sins and now he’s in heaven with the person he raped.

Chris: Even if he did confess his sins he will not make it to heaven.

Devon: So what you’re saying is the bible is a load of croak?

Chris: I’m not saying that at all.

Devon: Anyway, this party that occurs in heaven. You get to see people you have no clue who they are. Friends who may not be so thrilled to see you and you get to meet Jesus and God?

Chris: Absolutely! I can’t wait to meet Jesus.

Chris: Well, the streets are paved in gold! It says so in the Bible! And everyone has a big house! And you can eat whatever you want and not get fat! And really, you just do anything that makes you happy! Everyone is always happy!

Devon: People do whatever they want that makes them happy here. Does this mean that we are in heaven now?

Chris: No, because god and Jesus aren’t here. They are in an alternate universe.

Devon: If god isn’t here then how do you know that he exists if he’s in an alternate universe? He hasn’t revealed himself and the only way you can see him is to go to that universe? Can I travel to this universe now?

Chris: No because you’d have to die first before you see him. You clearly haven’t read the bible have you?

[The conversation continued but it was pretty much more of the same. It became quite clear that the concept of heaven is made up. How in the world does god dematerialize a half trillion ton of flesh and rematerialize it in another universe? Why not just give everyone new bodies? I mean he is god after all and he did create us right? The fact that there is no real evidence of god himself not even a photo gives me the end result that god doesn’t really exist and he’s imaginary.]

The idea of a god being in an alternate universe makes about as much sense as heaven existing. You don’t buy a car without test driving it. You don’t buy a home without first seeing it and looking through it. Let’s take the same logic that is used for heaven and apply it to someone buying a car.

Devon: There is this fantastic new car that we’ve just built. It comes with the most fuel efficient engine in its class and it also has room for seven people. Plus it has bullet proof reliability and is very affordable. It costs below $40,000.

Jessica: I really do need a seven-seat crossover. I would like to take it for a test drive.

Devon: You have to sign the dotted line first then you can drive off in your brand new crossover.

Jessica: But why can’t I see the crossover?

Devon: You said the crossover is exactly what you need. I don’t understand why you would need to see it? We have the crossover do you not believe it is here?

Jessica: No I don’t if I can’t physically see it or touch it.

Devon: All you have to do is sign the dotted line and the crossover is yours.

Jessica: Why would I buy something I cannot see or touch? It doesn’t make any sense!

Devon: Well we are going to have to ask you to leave then. If you are not here to buy our new crossover that is class leading and the most efficient ever, then you don’t want a car period.

[I find it incredibly funny that people are so eager to accept the notion of heaven without any kind of proof whatsoever. Why can’t we visit heaven? Why can’t we see photos of it? Maybe because deep down inside people know that heaven really doesn’t exist and it’s all made up propaganda to help those cope with the reality of dying. I myself also fear death but I’m not going to lie to myself and make up bullshit to ease my mind. If god were real he would reveal who he is and not hide.]
Maybe when you really think about it, god really should hide because of all the awful things he has had people do. Take a look at all the horrid things that god has done.

God drowns the whole earth.
In Genesis 7:21-23, God drowns the entire population of the earth: men, women, children, fetuses, and perhaps unicorns. Only a single family survives. In Matthew 24:37-42, gentle Jesus approves of this genocide and plans to repeat it when he returns.

God created this fucked up world and yet he decides the best solution to this fucked up world is to kill everyone and everything? What did plants and animals do to be killed? I mean what was the end result supposed to be if the new world was just as fucked up as the old one? This lunacy is clear proof that god doesn’t exist.

God kills half a million people.
In 2 Chronicles 13:15-18, God helps the men of Judah kill 500,000 of their fellow Israelites.

500,000 people are a lot of people to kill and one person killing them all? I know he had help from god but why was it okay to kill all these people? I could’ve sworn god said something about committing murder is wrong?

God slaughters all Egyptian firstborn.
In Exodus 12:29, God the baby-killer slaughters all Egyptian firstborn children and cattle because their king was stubborn.

Here is another example of god punishing everyone for the actions of one person. God loves killing babies, it’s like almost a fetish or something.

God kills 14,000 people for complaining that God keeps killing them.
In Numbers 16:41-49, the Israelites complain that God is killing too many of them. So, God sends a plague that kills 14,000 more of them.

Instead of the flood why didn’t god just create a plague or stop people’s hearts? I mean here is an example of god creating a plague because people complained too many of them are being killed? How dare they speak out against god and his love of genocide? This is pretty much what god is saying as he kills more people. He surely is a god of love.

Genocide after genocide after genocide.
In Joshua 6:20-21, God helps the Israelites destroy Jericho, killing “men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep and donkeys.” In Deuteronomy 2:32-35, God has the Israelites kill everyone in Heshbon, including children. In Deuteronomy 3:3-7, God has the Israelites do the same to the people of Bashan. In Numbers 31:7-18, the Israelites kill all the Midianites except for the virgins, whom they take as spoils of war. In 1 Samuel 15:1-9, God tells the Israelites to kill all the Amalekites – men, women, children, infants, and their cattle – for something the Amalekites’ ancestors had done 400 years earlier.

Here we go again. Mass genocide seems to be the only answer with god. Why did children have to die? What was the point of the 10 Commandments if it can be bent at a whim?

God kills 50,000 people for curiosity.
In 1 Samuel 6:19, God kills 50,000 men for peeking into the ark of the covenant. (Newer cosmetic translations count only 70 deaths, but their text notes admit that the best and earliest manuscripts put the number at 50,070.)

How many people lived during this time because the death tolls are staggering? It’s almost as if genocide was considered commonplace and its okay to just kill people for the most ridiculous reasons. Peeking at the Ark of the Covenant isn’t a reason for mass genocide, and if god didn’t want them to see it why did he have it out for people to peek at? This sounds like the tree that you know Adam and Eve ate from. God knew that they would eat the fruit but said a big fuck you to humanity and now we are all sinners. I mean the logical option would be to not create the scenario in the first place but hey it’s god he knows everything!

3,000 Israelites killed for inventing a god.
In Exodus 32, Moses has climbed Mount Sinai to get the Ten Commandments. The Israelites are bored, so they invent a golden calf god. Moses comes back and God commands him: “Each man strap a sword to his side. Go back and forth through the camp from one end to the other, each killing his brother and friend and neighbor.” About 3,000 people died.

Again another blood bath and god is just okay with people killing in his name. Despite the bible saying you shouldn’t take the lord’s name in vain or commit murder. The bible is just full of love isn’t it?

The Amorites destroyed by sword and by God’s rocks.
In Joshua 10:10-11, God helps the Israelites slaughter the Amorites by sword, then finishes them off with rocks from the sky.

Sounds like an apocalyptic nightmare. If god can make it rain rocks from the sky. Flood the earth and save one family having to look after every species on earth. Why can’t god fix the broken world that he created? It’s almost as if god wanted to create a fucked up world so he can be evil and do all this horrid things. You cannot question god and he works in mysterious ways, all which sound like a load of horseshit if I say so myself. God really is an awful being and doesn’t deserve our love but our contempt and disapproval.

God burns two cities to death.
In Genesis 19:24, God kills everyone in Sodom and Gomorrah with fire from the sky. Then God kills Lot’s wife for looking back at her burning home.

I know this story so well and the fact that God saved one family and killed everyone makes it even worse. Lot is the same guy who sacrificed his daughter to be gang raped to save two supposed angels. God kills Lot’s wife because she turned around to look at her burning home? I highly doubt that’s the reason she turned around. I think that it’s all because she couldn’t believe all her friends and family all died. It seems as if people during this time would need psychiatric help because death is just all over the place and you have a god that’s angry and vengeful. Do anything wrong and you’re dead. How can a world progress and move forward with that kind of weight on their conscious?

God has 42 children mauled by bears.
In 2 Kings 2:23-24, some kids tease the prophet Elisha, and God sends bears to dismember them. (Newer cosmetic translations say the bears “maul” the children, but the original Hebrew, baqa, means “to tear apart.”)

How in the world did 42 children march out of a town teasing a bald man? Where were the parents and why did all 42 children have to be maul to death by bears? I mean couldn’t he just ignore the children teasing him because I don’t know they’re fucking children! Why is death the only end result for literally everything? I mean a simple lesson could’ve been taught about teasing but death is just extreme. What about all those parents who lost their children? Why does god hate children so much?

A tribe slaughtered and their virgins raped for not showing up at roll call.
In Judges 21:1-23, a tribe of Israelites misses roll call, so the other Israelites kill them all except for the virgins, which they take for themselves. Still not happy, they hide in vineyards and pounce on dancing women from Shiloh to take them for themselves.

Why couldn’t these people be fined? I mean death is way over the top. Secondly, what kind of roll call is this? Are they school children? Why did dancing women have to be pounced on? Did god say sure go ahead slaughter, kidnap and rape! Rape some more if you’re not satisfied.

3,000 crushed to death.
In Judges 16:27-30, God gives Samson strength to bring down a building to crush 3,000 members of a rival tribe

Sounds familiar right? During the 9/11 terrorist attacks, two towers were brought down killing nearly 3,000 people. Some could say that this was done in the name of religion. Religion really does cause lots of problems and of course it has to be called out for what it is; a book of bigotry.

A concubine raped and dismembered.
In Judges 19:22-29, a mob demands to rape a godly master’s guest. The master offers his daughter and a concubine to them instead. They take the concubine and gang-rape her all night. The master finds her on his doorstep in the morning, cuts her into 12 pieces, and ships the pieces around the country.

This is one of the many grotesque stories that you’ll find in the bible. A concubine is a woman who lives with a man but has lower status than his wife or wives. The woman is offered to a mob who I’m assuming gang rapes her to death and he cuts her into pieces and sends her around the country? Why? I thought adultery was frowned upon and rape required forced marriage, or death as a penalty?

Child sacrifice.
In Judges 11:30-39, Jephthah burns his daughter alive as a sacrificial offering for God’s favor in killing the Ammonites.

There’s a trend going on here that proves how sexist god really is. Women are being pounced on, used as war scrap and brutally raped/murdered. How can anyone read this and say this is okay? Why did Jephthah have to sacrifice his daughter to god? Why did god need a sacrifice in the first place? I am so confused about the rules of murder because it seems they are just bent at a whim here.

God helps Samson kill 30 men because he lost a bet.
In Judges 14:11-19, Samson loses a bet for 30 sets of clothes. The spirit of God comes upon him and he kills 30 men to steal their clothes and pay off the debt.

Why couldn’t god just create 30 sets of clothes to help Samson pay off his debt? Why did 30 people have to die? Why didn’t god just have Samson rob the people of their clothing? Why is death the only solution?

God demands you kill your wife and children for worshiping other gods.
In Deuteronomy 13:6-10, God commands that you must kill your wife, children, brother, and friend if they worship other gods.

What happened to honoring your mother and father? Killing them surely isn’t honoring them at all. Secondly, the bible says that killing is wrong so why is killing in the name of god okay if you shouldn’t use the lord’s name in vain? I mean this is just one big ass contradiction; also killing someone over religious differences is complete lunacy.

God incinerates 51 men to make a point.
In 2 Kings 1:9-10, Elijah gets God to burn 51 men with fire from heaven to prove he is God.

Why couldn’t god I don’t know float down from heaven or wherever the hell he is and reveal himself? I mean why the fuck did 51 people have to burn to prove the existence of god? Why does god love violence? He surely isn’t a loving god at all!

God kills a man for not impregnating his brother’s widow.
In Genesis 38:9-10, God kills a man for refusing to impregnate his brother’s widow.

Remember next time god tells you to impregnate your brother’s widow you better do! Or else god will kill you. I mean forget the rules of adultery because the rules for murder have been pretty much forgotten altogether.

God threatens forced cannibalism.
In Leviticus 26:27-29 and Jeremiah 19:9, God threatens to punish the Israelites by making them eat their own children.

What did the Israelites do that made god this mad? I mean come to think of it god is always mad so he has some real anger issues. Cannibalism as a punishment is very harsh and well I don’t see how this would solve anything? And of course it would be the children who would have to suffer because they are sinful and deserve punishment for everyone else’s fuck up?

The coming slaughter.
According to Revelation 9:7-19, God’s got more evil coming. God will make horse-like locusts with human heads and scorpion tails, who torture people for 5 months. Then some angels will kill a third of the earth’s population. If he came today, that would be 2 billion people.

Okay, look at this statement and just think. The flood was supposed to help cleanse the world and give a new start to sinless humans, but the flood does nothing. God then sends his only son as a scapegoat to save the sins of humanity and Jesus does magic tricks but that doesn’t do anything at all either. Jesus dies for three days comes back to life and lives the rest of his time in heaven until he comes back to earth to revenge everyone who was part of his death and anyone deemed wicked? The world is wicked it needs to be destroyed. Those people worship the wrong god they need to be destroyed. How can you read this book and not become severely depressed? I mean everything is worthy of death. You either kill or get killed one way or another. Murder rules are meaningless and well adultery? Just toss that one out the window too. Praise god and you will get strength to kill in mass genocide and eternal reward in heaven. If I had to choose heaven or hell, I’d rather be in hell! Why would I want to spend eternity with insane people who take one look at the bible and say yes, I believe every word?

These are a few stories that are so full of lunacy that the person telling the story is either insane himself or drugged out beyond comprehension. The best part of reading these stories is that people say you have to read the lines before and after to understand what the actual message really entails. The 42 children for example, why did they all have to die? I mean children are naïve and will make poor decisions. This is why they have parents to help push them into the right direction by teaching them that teasing other people is wrong. There is no way that the only result from this is punishing all of them with death. I also don’t see how all those children wandered out of the town without being noticed? Where were their parents?

Why are women and children the ones that are suffering the most? Why does god love to torture and generate fear? You can apply the same logic of a god as an ‘authoritative figure’. Fear out of chaos is usually how you gain control of the populous; example is the fear of death. We don’t really know for sure what is going to happen to us when we die and we for sure want to cling onto the notion that we will live forever. This is how you gain control of people and make good people do bad things. It’s easy to controls someone and control their free will when you use ‘god’ as a weapon to make them do those awful things. Don’t worship any other god(s) other than me. Why? How do you know which god to worship that’s the real question here? Every holy text says the same thing worship my god or you will be punished. There really is no valid proof of a god(s) and if there were, wouldn’t there be multiple gods instead of just one? It has to be at least 1400 or more? The idea of a god itself is delusional and just like Santa Claus he will remain invisible and unknown.
