Mini Reviews

Land Rover Defender

Likes: Classy looks with rugged go anywhere capabilities. We just flat out love the retro-graded interior and the seven-seat configuration that's optional. The turbo six-cylinder is silky smooth.

Dislikes: The jump-seat is cool but awkward at the same time. Third-row seat is more of an occasional use. Turbo four-cylinder can feel gutless at times. Reliability is questionable.

Overall: We wish this Defender didn't have to live up to the reliability woes associated with Land Rover Products.

Mitsubishi Outlander Sport

Likes: A facelift that was desperately needed. The interior has been updated as well. Standard kit list is very generous for the money.

Dislikes: We were hoping the 1.5 turbo from the Eclipse-Cross would make it here. The most expensive versions feel expensive and unjustifiable compared to keen rivals.

Overall: Despite the fancy new look and improved interior. We were hoping for more than what it delivers.

Subaru Crosstrek

Likes: Optional 2.5 four-cylinder gives the flexibility that was much needed.   All-wheel-drive is standard kit. The interior is much improved as well as the driving dynamics.

Dislikes: We were hoping for a turbo engine option. Subaru needs to ditch the CVT Transmission.

Overall: A rugged compact crossover that's more reliable than a Jeep.

Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat

Likes: It's essentially a seven-seat Hellcat and feels that way also.  It can shame most super cars with straight-line performance. The muscle car of SUVs.

Dislikes: Other than the Hellcat engine, it's an average Dodge with a blah interior.

Overall: A Dodge for the Dodge Fan-Boys.

Ferrari Roma

Likes: The perfect entry-level Ferrari in style and performance. It's the most relaxed feeling Ferrari we've ever driven.

Dislikes: The LED headlights look a bit Volvo-ish.

Overall: A grand touring coupe that's stunning in looks.
